Delete Your Account and Data
How to delete your Aliasify account and data from the Android app or the web app, what is erased, what is kept, and how to delete only some of your data.
This page explains how to delete your Aliasify account and the data attached to it. Aliasify is published by leandre.io. It applies to the Aliasify Android app, the Aliasify web app and the Aliasify browser extension, which all use the same account.
Delete your account from the Android app
- Open Aliasify and sign in.
- Open Settings, then Privacy Settings.
- In the Danger Zone section, tap Delete Account.
- Read the warning and tap Request Deletion.
- Open the confirmation email we send to your account address and click Confirm Deletion.
Nothing is scheduled until you click the link in that email. Once you have, the app shows an Account Deletion Scheduled banner with the date of the deletion and an Undo button.
Delete your account from the web app
- Sign in to the Aliasify web app.
- Open Settings, then the Security tab.
- In the Danger Zone, click Delete Account, then Yes, delete my account.
- Open the confirmation email we send to your account address and click Confirm Deletion.
Once confirmed, the web app shows a banner with the number of days left and a Cancel Deletion button.
The browser extension
The extension has no account-deletion screen: delete your account from the Android app or the web app, as described above. The Logout button in the extension only removes the session stored in your browser.
What happens after you confirm
- 30-day grace period. Your account is scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days after you confirm. During these 30 days you can cancel at any time by signing in and using Cancel Deletion (web) or Undo (Android).
- Permanent deletion. An automated job runs every night at midnight (server time). It deletes every account whose deletion date has passed. If you have a paid subscription, it is cancelled immediately, then your account is deleted.
- Deletion cannot be undone once the grace period is over.
Data that is deleted with your account
- Your account (email address and sign-in details)
- Your aliases and all the emails they received, including attachments
- Your forwarding addresses and forwarding rules
- Your custom domains
- Your API keys and webhooks
- Your notification settings and the push-notification tokens of your devices
- Your activity (audit) logs
Data that is not deleted by this process
- Payment records. Payments are processed by Stripe. Cancelling your subscription is part of the deletion, but our deletion job does not erase the records Stripe keeps about past payments; they stay subject to Stripe's own retention and to accounting obligations. We never store your full card number.
- Correspondence with support. Emails you sent to our support team are ordinary email correspondence and are not removed by the automated job. See Contact to ask for their removal.
- Server logs. Technical logs (IP addresses and request URLs kept for security) are kept for a limited time, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Delete only some of your data
You do not need to delete your account to remove data.
Delete an alias
Deleting an alias permanently deletes the emails it received.
- Web app: delete the alias from its card in your list of aliases.
- Android app: open the alias, open its settings, then tap Delete Alias.
- Extension: the extension can switch an alias off (the shield button) but cannot delete it; use the web app or the Android app.
Delete emails
- Web app and Android app: deleting an email moves it to Trash. Emails in Trash are removed permanently after 30 days. In the web app you can also open Trash, select an email and delete it permanently right away.
- Automatic deletion. Received emails are also deleted automatically after a retention period that depends on your plan: 24 hours on Free, 7 days on Pro and 30 days on Business.
- Activity (audit) logs are purged automatically after 30 days.
